Community Committees
AZERPUG is governed by four volunteer-led committees. Following PostgreSQL global community practice, each committee has a clear charter, recommended composition, and an open application process — anyone in the community can apply.
Limited Terms
Committee members serve fixed terms (typically 1–2 years), with rotation to prevent entrenchment.
Open & Transparent
Charters, decisions, and meeting summaries are public. Applications are open to any community member.
Diverse Composition
Members are drawn from different companies and backgrounds; no single employer holds a majority on any committee.
Code of Conduct Committee (CoCC)
The CoC Committee is the confidential body that handles all reports of Code of Conduct violations across AZERPUG events, channels, and activities. Members must demonstrate impartiality, discretion, and good judgement. The committee follows the official PostgreSQL Code of Conduct as adopted by AZERPUG.
Program Committee
The Program Committee runs the Call for Papers (CFP) for AZERPUG meetups and conferences, evaluates proposals on merit, and shapes the technical agenda. To minimise bias, reviews are double-blind: speaker names and affiliations are hidden from reviewers during scoring. Members recuse themselves from reviewing proposals where they have a conflict of interest.
Organizing & Volunteers Committee
This committee turns plans into reality. Responsibilities include venue scouting and contracts, sponsorship coordination, registration management, A/V and streaming, on-site signage, volunteer coordination, and post-event reporting. It works closely with the Program Committee for talks and the Advocacy Committee for promotion.
Advocacy & Marketing Committee
The Advocacy Committee promotes PostgreSQL and AZERPUG in Azerbaijan and abroad. Responsibilities include managing official channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Telegram, YouTube, X), writing announcements, coordinating with PostgreSQL Europe / global press contacts, designing event posters, and engaging with universities and student groups to grow the next generation of contributors.
